|
|
We settled on 'Goddess' as the main honorific for me when we play. This was something that Richard had initiated but it sounded so heartfelt in his slightly breathless American accent that I decided to stick with it.
I have to admit, I like 'Mistress' despite it's tainted reputation. It simply sounds so sweet with it's double sibilant 's', and it conjures up a lot of pleasing classical imagery.
I do dislike any trace of phoniness, though. Goddess is something I feel fits closer to what I am all of the time, since I am attractive and creative, and I feel comfortable with it. I guess the fact that he's captive to my charm but I don't rule or organize his life on a large extent (apart from indirectly) makes Goddess seem more appropriate than Mistress.
One thought that occurred to me was to have him use Mistress when I am punishing him, and Goddess at other times. This fits us well, now that I think about it. For a start, pet dislikes Mistress more, and secondly, we both want an excuse to change the honorific in a significant way and this provides a vehicle for that - knowing he's being punished he should know to switch terminology and if he forgets, well...
This is all stuff for further down the road. Right now my mind is more concerned with getting re-acquainted with using the various instruments well and finding my feet (on the back of his neck) again. |

'Mistress' works for me at certain times. 'Ma'am' is used on an everyday basis. 'O Honoured Deity of Shoes' is appropriate at all times. 'Most Beloved Empress of the Four Inch Heel' is one I am particularly fond of.
Having my name used is also good, and quite effective since it is so seldom used now. It sparks my interest when she says my name. _________________ That Woman

Ah, those names are so lovely........with Your permission i would love to surprise my daughter with them. She is studying German and hoping to spend a year in Germany as an exchange student, it would be good to be 'one up' on her for a change, lol. _________________ There is no most excellent beauty which hath not some strangeness in the proportion. - Sir Francis Drake |

I quite like that idea . Especially since he dislikes the term. It really reinforces the idea of being in trouble! _________________ Mistress160

| I like "my Mistress" and "oh yes Ma'am" very much and I adore when he calls me my name in that breathless pleading sort of way. That's really the big thing - the way he says any of those. The passion, the love, the surrender, the desperation - when I can hear those in any word he uses, I'm in heaven. |

I love to hear my name. I find this to be so totally thrilling. It is so intimate in ways another honorific could never be.
I would especially like it if, during intense play, my submissive would use my name while begging. As if he's so desperate for mercy he risks casting aside my other moniker in an attempt to appeal to my purest self.
Sometimes using other titles makes me feel disconnected from part of myself, as if I'm assuming a role. That's not always a comfortable feeling for me, it feels contrived at times. _________________ A dame that knows the ropes isn't likely to get tied up. - Mae West |

I'm surprised more people don't feel that way. It is two individuals that are exchanging power, not two generic roles.
But some people do use the titles as a way of distinguishing scene space. _________________ Female Led Relationships - Femdom Romance - Femdom Dating |

And I can appreciate its usefulness in that manner, which is frankly my motivation for using such.
This is where ideas about rituals (perhaps in place of a moniker) becomes interesting to me, as a way of distinguishing scene space, or 'flipping the on switch' to D/s time. _________________ A dame that knows the ropes isn't likely to get tied up. - Mae West |

As a southerner, "Ma'am" rolls off bbenn's tongue frequently and sounds quite natural. It has special connotations for me, since I wasn't used to hearing it before we got together, and I especially like hearing him call other women "ma'am," knowing they are only getting the ordinary variety. Especially my mom, for some reason! (Maybe because I imagine it touches her dominating nerve too?)
He has called me "mistress" at times, but there are also times for "ma'am" and "mommy." They help establish and reinforce the scene space.
Vanilla-sounding terms of endearment make him sound more serious about the accompanying begging, and even more so when he uses my name. Like OK, I'm not really even in role anymore, this is the real me, and I want you to please, please... (Fill in the blank).
"Honey, don't..."
"Really, sweetie, please...."
